AAdvantage status match & challenge (2026)
AAdvantage has no open public status match. A status challenge to Gold, Platinum, Platinum Pro or Executive Platinum is available. The fastest route is the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard, which grants Loyalty Points toward all tiers (up to Executive Platinum).
Executive Platinum unlocks Systemwide Upgrades, the widest-window complimentary upgrades, global oneworld Emerald lounge access and free onboard food and drinks.

How to start: Submit via the aa.com Contact Us form (AAdvantage account service, subject 'Status match (other airlines)'); ~4 weeks. Requires active earned elite status with Delta, United, JetBlue, Southwest or Spirit
AA offers a status challenge ('Instant Status Pass'), not an instant public match. Ineligible if completed within the past ~2 years. Registration windows rotate (a current cycle deadline was reported around July 31, 2026 — verify).
Fastest card route to status
Grants Loyalty Points toward all tiers (up to Executive Platinum) — Earns 1 Loyalty Point per $1 on all spend plus up to 40,000 bonus Loyalty Points/yr at spend milestones; because LP accrue on general spend, Executive Platinum (200k LP) is reachable largely via spend. Annual fee rose to $695 effective Aug 23, 2026. Annual fee $695.

Expiration & how to keep it
Status earned in the qualification year (Mar 1-Feb 28/29) is valid through Mar 31 of the following year; a shortfall triggers a soft landing effective April 1.
